So, your dad likes store-bought sloppy joe mix in the jar. Personally, I prefer this recipe.
*Full Stop*
Dude. I posted this recipe a few weeks ago. OMGosh! I’ll leave both recipes, though, to show how mom forgets everything *facepalm*
Mix the following in a small bowl & set aside.
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 1/2 cups of ketchup
- 2 TB brown sugar (heaping)
- 1/2 TB yellow mustard
- 1/2 TB Worchestire sauce
- 1/2 TB Frank’s Red Hot
- 1/4 cup (or more) of water
Next, brown a pound of ground beef, drain the fat, and add the sauce. Stir well. Let it simmer in pan for a few minutes until it is warmed through and bubbly.
Serving Suggestions:
- I like to grill the buns in melted butter and then use the same pan to cook the meat. The crispy, toasty, butter-y buns take sloppy Joes to a whole other level of yumminess.
- We have also been known to skip the buns and eat sloppy Joe meat with a bowl of mac & cheese. Blue box works or you can use my homemade recipe here.
